Everything I See.

I am intrigued by the idea of Everything as Art. This is not to say that I believe that everything is Art but rather Everything has the potential of being Art- it is up to us to locate the beauty, the compassion, the connection. We "see" things for a reason, what you choose to see is up to your willingness to perceive. I know this sounds obvious but in a world of overexposure and repetitious commercial hype, it is easy to forget that we are still in charge of our own appreciations. In the late 19th Century, the Greeks used the word Aesthete to describe a person who has or affects to have a special appreciation for beauty. (source: Oxford American Dictionary)

I strive to be an Aesthete today, I choose to see the fine Art in the gaze of a puppy, a sunset, a box of light, a childs gaze, an embrace. What will you choose?
