Even on the first day, a blogger noted that he heard a non-English-speaking dog walker play wonderful Beethoven! The installation of pianos is slated to come to San Jose, CA. On July 2, SANTA FE OPERA will open its 2010 season with Puccini’s Madama Butterfly staring Kelly Kaduce and Brandon Jovanovich. The following night will bring in the premiere of Mozart’s The Magic Flute starring the delightful married couple, Charles Castronovo and Ekaterina Siurina as Tamio and Pamina. The NAPA VALLEY FESTIVAL DEL SOLE will run from July 16-25. This year’s schedule is packed with events and concerts that range from classical music to tangos under the stars and jazz. R AND H THEATRICALS has announced that high schools and colleges in the United States would soon be able to perform Phantom of the Opera for modest fees. The company will begin accepting applications on September 1, 2010, www.rnh.com. Ted Chapin of the Rogers and Hammerstein organization says that it will soon be possible for schools to perform the show despite the fact that it will still be running in theaters.
